Barr Planning was thrilled to obtain recent DA approval for upgrades to Tennis World, North Ryde.

The DA approval enables Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) to upgrade an existing outdoor sports and recreation facility by providing:

• New outdoor beach volleyball court
• New clubhouse including additional use of the building as a community facility
• New covered roof structures to sports courts to permit all weather play
• Resurfaced multi-sport functionality on existing sport courts

Barr Planning worked collaboratively with City of Ryde Council and the SSMG to successfully resolve a number of environmental challenges including biodiversity constraints and remediation of latent site conditions to obtain the approval. The development upgrades existing sporting facilities and opens new connections to Blenheim Park to the east providing active and passive recreation opportunities to support a high density and growing area of Sydney.
