This week the Barr Planning Newcastle and Sydney teams came together virtually to celebrate, World Town Planning Day, marked each year on 8 November.

The team spent time discussing the World Town Planning Day message to ‘Think Global, Plan Local’. We asked ourselves how we, as a business and as individuals, are reducing our carbon footprint, but also how we can influence and inform our clients on appropriate and achievable measures to have a positive impact on the environment.

Highlights of the morning was hearing Team member Sam’s observations of the town planning ‘wins’ in the global city Singapore, while enjoying ‘still warm’ muffins from our favourite local café. Importantly we recognised our contribution as planners, to improving the lives of people and the communities we serve and will continue to progress our ways of working to ensure a better future for generations to come.
