At our annual Team Day, both the Barr Planning Newcastle and Sydney offices convened for a day of learning and discussion. Beyond delving into the intricacies of planning, it was also an opportunity for us to foster camaraderie and gain insights into the year ahead. 

To start the day, our team had the privilege of visiting a local school campus of one of our valued education clients. The site visit provided an opportunity to observe in real-world planning challenges, from including traffic and parking management, pedestrian movement and flow in and around a site during the schools’ morning peak and nodular building construction. 

The site visit also provided staff with the opportunity to engage with the client as they provided invaluable perspectives on the intricacies of working with town planners and navigating the development process. Their input profoundly resonated and will inform our future collaborations.  

Once back in the office, the team were led through discussions concerning our company core vision and values of hard work, integrity, and initiative and were presented the business priorities for the upcoming year. We also spent time doing some technical training including brushing up on our technical writing skills, and exploring the possibilities presented by AI utilisation in the planning industry.  

In between the learning and discussion the team enjoyed a fast paced walk along the scenic Carrington Foreshore and spent time talking with one another, enjoying delicious food. 

The team day brought together our Sydney and Newcastle offices, highlighting the power of collaboration and how we can overcome challenges and achieve remarkable outcomes. As we chart our course forward, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of innovation, excellence, and unwavering dedication to our clients’ success.
