This week, we held our annual Barr Planning Team Day with our growing Sydney and Newcastle teams.

The day provided us with the opportunity to reflect on our 2022 accomplishments and set new objectives for improvement within our business, while also developing our knowledge of the planning process.

During the day, we practised evaluating current land use planning processes against real-life outcomes by visiting a number of sites in Minmi, including sites being rezoned through the planning proposal process, subdivisions under construction and then completed housing estates. Despite the rain, the team gained an appreciation of the construction and development processes, and housing outcomes by critically examining developed precincts. Overall, the day provided an opportunity to get out on site together, and gain insight into our role as planners in the urban development process.
