World Town Planners Day 2025 – “With Planning, We Can!”

This year to celebrate World Town Planning Day, we recognise the planners who help shape the places where communities live, work, and flourish. Planning plays a central role in balancing growth, sustainability, and liveability — and at Barr Planning, we’re proud to contribute to this work across Newcastle & the Hunter, Sydney, and Regional NSW.

To mark the occasion, our team came together to share the places that hold a special sense of meaning for each of us — those uniquely magical places that continue to inspire our connection to planning and place-making. We also reflected on the projects we’re most proud to have worked on, highlighting the impact our work has had across the state. Our celebration then continued with a team culture and engagement workshop, strengthening our shared purpose and the values that guide our work.

This year’s theme, “With Planning, We Can!”, is a timely reminder that planning is at the heart of the solution. As planners, we play a vital role in building resilient, adaptable communities.
