Hunter Central Logistics Estate Granted SSD Approval

Barr Planning is pleased to confirm that Phase 1 of the Hunter Central Logistics Estate (HCLE) at Black Hill has been granted State Significant Development (SSD) approval.

The approved development represents an estimated $261 million capital investment and will deliver a large‑scale industrial and logistics estate strategically located to support freight, distribution and employment opportunities across the Lower Hunter.

Barr Planning supported the project through the State Significant Development approvals pathway, contributing to planning strategy, coordination of specialist inputs, and navigation of statutory and policy considerations required for determination at a State level. The approval reflects the project’s alignment with regional planning objectives, employment growth strategies and freight and logistics priorities.

This determination marks a key milestone for the project and for industrial development in the Black Hill precinct.
